OUTCOMES
Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital uses several measurements to assess the outcomes of persons served. These outcomes are compared with national LTACH benchmarks compiled by the National Association of Long Term Hospitals (NALTH). The outcomes described below are outcomes for all patients discharged from Madonna's LTACH between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007.
Discharge to Community: 47% of patients discharged to a community setting, which compares favorably with the NALTH benchmark of 44%.
Functional Gain: On average, LTACH patients made a gain of 16.68 points on the FIM scale* which was above our facility goal of 15.
Ventilator Weaning: 64% of ventilator patients successfully weaned in an average of 17 days. Click here to read more about Pulmonary Program Outcomes.
Wound Healing: 90% of patients with chronic or slow-healing wounds showed a positive change on the PUSH (Pressure Ulcer Scale for Healing) tool. Click here to read more about Wound Program Outcomes.
Satisfaction: 94% rated their experience as "Excellent" or "Good" overall
Maintenance of Gain: Of those who responded to a telephone survey completed 3 months after discharge, 94% responded that they had maintained the gains made during their hospitalization.
