Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital is pleased to introduce Dr. Ana Delgado as the medical director of stroke rehabilitation and Dr. Ana Tran as a staff physiatrist.
Dr. Delgado is a board certified neurologist who completed a neurorehabilitation fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida, where she worked before joining Madonna.
Leading Madonna's stroke rehabilitation team, Dr. Delgado helps patients with stroke or other neurological disorder regain their physical and cognitive abilities. She brings rare expertise as a neurorehabilitation specialist. Working closely with the referring physician, the patient, their family and the care team, Dr. Delgado assesses each patient and helps develop a individualized treatment plan to achieve the best possible recovery.
Dr. Delgado earned her medical degree from the Medical School Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia. She completed her residency in neurology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami, Florida, where she also served an internship in internal medicine. Additionally, she was a research associate with the Department of Neurological Surgery/Endovascular Division at the University of Miami, Miami, Fla.
Dr. Delgado has several published peer reviewed papers and posters and is currently co-investigator for a stroke trial research project with the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Tran recently completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, N.J., where she also served as an internal medicine intern from July 2009 to June 2010 and earned her medical doctor degree in May 2009. Dr. Tran's undergraduate degree is in political science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
Dr. Tran is treating patients with a wide variety of disabling illnesses and injuries on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. She will also focus on research projects within Madonna's Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering.
