Adolescent & Children's Program: Who We Serve
Background: Madonna's Adolescent & Children's Rehabilitation Program is designed to meet the needs of individuals 18 years or younger with a variety of diagnoses. Madonna offers pediatric rehabilitation across a wide continuum of care, including the inpatient acute pediatric rehabilitation program in The Alexis Verzal Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, a Rehabilitation Day Program, as well as a Pediatric Outpatient Program. During its most recent fiscal year ending June 30, 2011 Madonna served a total of 374 new adolescents and children.
InpatientDiagnoses: Madonna serves kids with a variety of diagnoses. For its most recent fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, adolescents and children with the following diagnoses were served as inpatients: brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, orthopedic, cardio-pulmonary, neurological conditions and burns.
Ages: During its most fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, the average age of patients served was 10.5 years.
Geographic Area: Madonna serves people from a wide region. Last year 79% of the children and adolescents served at Madonna came from outside Lincoln, with 14 who came from out of state including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota. Rehabilitation Day and OutpatientA total of 250 new outpatients were served, with the pediatric therapy team delivering nearly 10,700 visits. Additionally, 29 new patients were served in the Rehabilitation Day Program. Diagnoses: Madonna serves outpatient children and adolescents with a wide array of diagnoses, including brain injury, orthopedic injuries, spinal cord injury, stroke, neurological conditions, feeding and swallowing deficits, and developmental disabilities. Ages: The Adolescent and Children Outpatient Program serves children at a variety of ages.
