Our current research includes the following: Decision Science in Rehabilitation Funding Agency: National Institute of Mental Health (Principal Investigator: Will Spaulding, Ph.D.) This multi-year, multi-site, public and private sector collaborative investigation focuses on development and refinement of techniques for building and using large databases to discover underlying relationships that may be translated into improved rehabilitation service provision and evaluation. A major comparison is between databases of a psychiatric hospital and a physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital, together consisting of approximately 5,000 inpatients. Recovery of Function Across Rehabilitation Settings: An Equating and Effectiveness Study Funding Agency: National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (Principal Investigator: Trudy Mallinson, Ph.D.) Madonna is a participating site in a multi-year research project being conducted by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, focused on examination and comparison of post-acute care outcomes for patients receiving rehabilitation services in acute rehabilitation hospitals, subacute settings and home health care. An Investigation of Cardiac and Pulmonary Patient Outcomes in Inpatient Rehabilitation versus Skilled Nursing Facilities Funding Agency: American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (Principal Investigator: Judah Skolnick, M.D.) Madonna is a participating site in a multi-year research project coordinated by the Frazier Rehabilitation Institute, focused on examination and comparison of post-acute care outcomes for patients receiving rehabilitation services in acute rehabilitation hospitals and subacute settings. |
