Located within the Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, the laboratory benefits from well established relationships with members of the academic and clinical communities. About the Movement and Neurosciences Center
The Movement and Neurosciences Center, located within the Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, includes a state-of-the art laboratory for performing biomechanical and physiological analyses of normal and pathologic human movement. Established in 2001, the Movement Sciences Center includes the Richard W. and Jacqueline B. Chapin Gait and Motion Lab. In 2007, the Movement Sciences Center's name was changed to the Movement and Neurosciences Center, reflecting its growing emphasis on enhancing the quality of life of the whole person by integrating neurocognitive research with ongoing studies in the biomechanical and physiological domains.
The Movement and Neurosciences Center is dedicated to conducting biomechanical, physiological and neurocognitive research to enhance the independence and quality of life of persons with and without disabilities in order to maximize full participation in life activities. Our work supports the mission of the Institute for Rehabilitation Sciences and Engineering as well as the mission of Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. |
