Specialized Programs & Services

Background: Madonna's Adaptive Sports & Recreation Program serves patients as well as community members with disabilities, providing services in three basic areas: Open Recreation, Competitive Sports, and Adaptive Sports Workshops.

Ages: Madonna serves people of all ages and types of physical disabilities. It is an integral part of the following programs at Madonna:

• Adolescent & Children's
• Amputation
• Brain Injury
• Rehabilitation Day Program
• Spinal Cord Injury
• Stroke

Volumes: During its most recent fiscal year ending June 30, 2009 Madonna served 112 inpatients and outpatients and 497 community members, for a total of 609 individuals in the Adaptive Sports & Recreation Program.

In addition to open recreation activities, Madonna held 8 Adaptive Sports & Recreation Workshops with 133 participants, and hosted three competitions with a total of 127 participants.
