Specialized Programs & Services

One of the most commonly heard questions rehabilitation staff hear from our patients is "When can I drive again?" The ability to drive often makes the difference between social isolation and community integration, and can have a huge impact life roles such as return to work or school.

Madonna provides Driver Rehabilitation Services, including assessment and training, to adults with all types of physical disabilities. Driver Rehabilitation Services are a key part of the following specialty programs at Madonna:

• Amputation
  
• Brain Injury
  
• Rehabilitation Day Program
  
• Spinal Cord Injury
  
• Stroke
  

During its most recent fiscal year ending June 30, 2007 Madonna completed Driver Evaluations on over 140 inpatients and outpatients.

A physician's referral and complete medical history is needed to participate in Driver Rehabilitation Services. A valid driver's license or learner's permit as well as appropriate car insurance is required for the on-road driver assessment and training components.
