Review of recent evidence-based research related to basic balance/postural control strategies/motor learning, proper breathing mechanics and timing to best stimulate the autonomic nervous system will be shared, as well as recent findings of lymphatics within the brain and how they may contribute to the development of neurologic disorders.

Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of Iowa

Dr. Terry Wahls is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa where she teaches internal medicine residents, sees patients in a traumatic brain injury clinic, and conducts clinical trials.

She is also a patient with a chronic progressive neurological disorder, secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, which confined her to a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years. But thanks to the power of The Wahls Protocol, which is based on functional medicine and the Wahls Paleo™ diet, Dr. Wahls restored her health and now pedals her bike five miles to work each day.

She is the author of The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo Principles and Functional Medicine, Minding My Mitochondria: How I Overcame Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and Got Out of My Wheelchair and teaches the public and medical community about the healing power of intensive nutrition.

Follow her on Facebook (Terry Wahls MD) and on Twitter at @TerryWahls.
