Madonna medical staff assists in the recovery of our patients and families during the rehabilitation process. The patient’s primary care and referring physician are involved in the treatment plan to ensure a smooth transition back to the community. Each patient at Madonna has an attending physician who is supported by transdisciplinary treatment teams and more than 300 consulting physicians representing the full spectrum of medical specialties.

Lincoln Campus

Samantha Bohl, O.D. - Staff Optometrist
Dr. Bohl received her doctor of optometry degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She completed her residency at the State University of New York College of Optometry in the Vision Rehabilitation program. Dr. Bohl earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Translation and Interpretation from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Matthew Driewer, M.D. – Medical Director MRSH-Lincoln
Dr. Driewer is board certified in internal medicine. He completed his residency training at the University of Iowa, Des Moines. Dr. Driewer has been practicing medicine for more than 10 years as an internal medicine physician and hospitalist.

Adam T. Kafka, M.D.  – Medical Director MRH-Lincoln
Dr. Kafka graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. After an internship in internal medicine at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, he completed the physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Kafka is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.   

Paul Krabbenhoft, M.D. – Staff Physiatrist and Spinal Cord Injury Program Medical Director
Dr. Krabbenhoft completed his medical residency at the University of Minnesota and is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is also board certified in the subspecialty of Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the National Spinal Cord Injury Association.

Morgan LaHolt, M.D. – Staff physiatrist and Brain Injury Program Medical Director
Dr. LaHolt graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. After an internship in Family Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he completed the physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program at the University of Missouri-Columbia and served as chief resident during his final year. He is board certified in the subspecialty of Brain Injury Medicine. He is also board certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.

Mohsen Abou Seif, M.D. – Staff Hospitalist
Dr. Seif is board certified by the American board of family medicine. He completed his residency training at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. He has been practicing medicine for seven years. 

Jackie Tran, M.D. – Staff Physiatrist
Dr. Tran is a graduate of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Rutgers/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. She specializes in non-surgical management of nerve, muscle, bone, movement and pain conditions. She is also a certified pre-employment medical examiner for the Department of Transportation.

Andy Moellering, M.D. – Staff Hospitalist
Dr. Moellering is board certified in internal medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha.

Omaha Campus

Christopher Anderson, D.O. - Staff Physiatrist
Dr. Anderson is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. After completing his doctor of osteopathic medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, he completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Samuel Bierner, M.D. – Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals-Omaha Campus Medical Officer
Dr. Bierner graduated with his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School and earned his master’s degree in rehabilitation medicine at the University of Washington Graduate School. Dr. Bierner completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Washington and a fellowship in clinical neurology at the Human Motor Control Branch, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He has served as the UT Southwestern Medical Center’s PM&R residency program director before becoming the chair of UNMC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.

Jessica Fernandes, M.D. – Staff Hospitalist
Dr. Fernandes is board certified in internal medicine and completed her undergraduate degree at Creighton University and her residency at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, where she served as Chief Resident in 2009, among other academic accomplishments. Her interests are in cardiac care and management. In her spare time, Dr. Fernandes volunteers for the Creighton Magis Clinic and Habitat for Humanity.

Tanner C. Gates, O.D. – Staff Optometrist
Dr. Gates has a Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed post-doctoral training in vision therapy/rehabilitative optometry at Appelbaum Eye Care Associates in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Gates has extensive experience with pediatrics and binocular vision, as well as ocular disease.

Susan Ohnoutka, M.D. – Staff Hospitalist, Medical Director MRSH-O
A graduate of Nebraska College of Medicine, Dr. Ohnoutka completed her residency at the Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Ohnoutka’s interests are in chronic care management and complex medical rehabilitation. She is board certified in internal medicine. Prior to joining Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Ohnoutka served as an acute care hospitalist for 11 years.

Abbie Ray, M.D. – Staff Hospitalist
Dr. Ray is board certified in internal medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Wayne State College, followed by her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She then completed her residency at Iowa Methodist Center where she served as chief resident in 2010. In her free time, Dr. Ray spends time with her four children and volunteers at their school and church.

Joseph Snow, M.D. - Pediatric Hospitalist
Dr. Snow is board certified in pediatric. After completing his doctor of Medicine degree at Creighton University in Omaha, he completed his pediatric residency at Creighton-Nebraska Universities, joint pediatric residency program and served as chief resident.

Sheilah Snyder, M.D. - Pediatric Hospitalist
Dr. Snyder is board certified in pediatrics. She completed her Doctor of Medicine Degree at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She completed her pediatric residency at the Creighton-Nebraska Universities, joint pediatric residency training program and served as chief resident. 

Sharon Stoolman, M.D. - Pediatric Hospitalist
Dr. Stoolman is a pediatric hospitalist and is board certified in pediatrics. She completed her resident at Creighton Nebraska Universities, joint pediatric resident program. She has been practicing medicine for 12 years.
