Your Legacy - Planned Giving

Planned Giving Options

Simply identify the Madonna Foundation in your will or trust.  Contact our staff for sample language you can use and edit for your will.

If you wish to update your beneficiaries on your policy to include the Madonna Foundation, simply contact your life insurance company.

Visit with a financial professional to see if it makes sense for your estate gift to be given through your retirement assets.  A gift from your 401K or IRA could reduce taxes for your beneficiaries.

Through a special charitable giving tool called a retained life estate gift, you can donate your residence or farm to Madonna, receive a potential tax advantage, and still live there and use the property for the rest of your life.

You can give an irrevocable gift to Madonna of cash or securities while you and/or your beneficiaries receive fixed annual payments for life at a rate based on the age of the beneficiaries.

This is an excellent way to advance Madonna’s vision while receiving income for life or for a fixed number of years. When created with Madonna as the trustee, you receive an immediate income tax deduction. If you donate securities to the trust, those assets can be sold and reinvested without incurring any capital gains tax and you can add to the trust at any time. The rate is agreed upon when created, while payments will vary based on the performance of the investments. When the trust terminates, Madonna holds the balance to advance its mission.

The Madonna Legacy Society honoring Sister Phyllis Hunhoff

Sister Phyllis Hunhoff became Madonna’s second administrator in 1965. Under her guidance, Madonna grew into one of the nation’s leaders in comprehensive rehabilitation care. The Madonna Legacy Society was created in honor of Sister Phyllis’ vision and as a way to recognize those individuals who have arranged for future gifts to continue the life-changing work of the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals.

Because estate planning is unique to each family, be sure to contact a professional for guidance. Please contact one of our gift officers to begin the process:
