I would like to open this Independent issue with a reflection on Madonna’s core value of collaboration.
Over the last four years, Madonna has collaborated with the University of Nebraska Medical Center and its clinical partner Nebraska Medicine to provide physicians for Madonna’s Omaha Campus and establish a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department/residency program. This partnership has enhanced the mission of both organizations, creating programs/services that support not only Nebraskans but individuals from the region and nation.
Madonna is excited to announce another evolving partnership with Children’s Hospital & Medical Center. In 2016, a physician coverage agreement between Madonna and Children’s allowed Children’s Specialty Physicians to provide services and care for children in Madonna’s Omaha Campus pediatric unit. In 2017, this partnership will grow. Children’s will increase its presence and expanded services in Lincoln by relocating its specialty clinics to leased space on Madonna’s Lincoln Campus. This move will triple the space available to Children’s. More specialties and physicians will come to Lincoln, making pediatric care more accessible and convenient for thousands of children and families. This collaboration reflects both organizations’ commitment to care for children and families in Lincoln, Nebraska, and beyond.
Partnerships have flourished at Madonna. This issue of the Independent is filled with stories of partnering at every level of our organization. They build on a solid foundation of collaboration between Madonna’s most important partners—our employees and those we serve. Staff members feel a strong sense of purpose while patients, residents, family members and guests feel a strong sense of belonging. The relationship that develops between employees and those we serve is what makes Madonna special and ensures our continued success.
