Crete firefighter inspires during burn recovery

Brad Elder, a volunteer firefighter, sustained burn injuries while fighting a massive grass fire south of Lincoln, Nebraska, last fall. He came to Madonna’s regionally recognized burn program, where our clinical experts anticipate burn survivors’ needs and empower them with the knowledge and ability to manage wounds and scars. Rehabilitation nurses play a crucial role in improving the lives of patients recovering from illness or injury. These are individuals who’ve received advanced training and have earned the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) distinction. We’re proud that of the 135 registered CRRNs in the state, more than half, 72, are employed at Madonna. New grant continues Institute’s tradition of national rehabilitation research

As a Rehabilitation Engineering Center of Excellence, members of Madonna’s Institute are known for their involvement in and contributions to national research and development. Recently, Madonna was named in a five-year, multimillion dollar federal grant to improve communication access for individuals with communication deficits.
