Adaptive Sports and Recreation Competition

Madonna sponsors two wheelchair sports teams and offers tournaments throughout the year for adaptive sports including tennis, golf and wheelchair basketball.

Lincoln Activities

The Madonna Magic team has been competing since 1996, and is a part of the Midwestern Conference of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. The Madonna Magic competes against teams throughout the Midwest, including Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Every Tuesday evening between October and March, the Madonna Magic practices at Madonna ProActive’s accessible gymnasium. Visitors are welcome to watch.

The team welcomes individuals who might be interested in trying the sport. Invitational and/or conference games are hosted by Madonna each year. To check out the dates, please visit our Event Calendar. For more information about the Madonna Magic or wheelchair basketball, call 402.413.3722.

The Madonna Match Points tennis team is made up of seasoned players as well as rookies. Madonna is a member of the US Tennis Association and works in collaboration with the Woods Tennis Center. They practice weekly at the Woods Tennis Center, and together we host the annual Lincoln Classic Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. Visitors are welcome to watch practice or tournament play.

The Youth Power Soccer Series is held during the fall at Madonna ProActive and includes a weekly two-hour practice that is split into junior varsity and varsity, along with hosting and traveling to tournaments. It enables individuals with a variety of medical diagnoses to use power wheelchairs to participate in a fun, recreational game of soccer.

Each year, Madonna hosts the Madonna Golf Fore All tournament. This event pairs individuals who have a disability with able-bodied players for a fun, competitive tournament.
