Contessa Siders is a 2016 GOAL Award recipient. “Tess” suffered a stroke at home on September 25, 2014. She was stabilized at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City before admitting to Madonna. In just six weeks, Tess regained movement in her arm, passed her driving evaluation, and transitioned from wheelchair to cane.

Tess volunteers at Mercy Medical in Sioux City and together with her husband, Aaron, helped create a local stroke advocacy group and is making a difference in her community through her volunteerism.
