Rodney Guthmiller is a 2016 GOAL award recipient. On January 13th, 2016, Rodney was unloading his trailer in Jerome, Idaho, when he took an unexpected five foot fall. He suffered a base skull fracture, significant cerebral hemorrhaging and a spinal cord injury. He was transported to Pocatello, Idaho, for intensive care. He arrived at Madonna exactly two weeks later breathing with the help of a trach and receiving nutrition through a g-tube. Within three days he was eating and standing with assistance. After a little over a week, he was walking 75 feet, feeding himself, talking, and had been taken off the trach. He continued in our rehab day program after his discharge from outpatient.
