Volunteer At Madonna
Volunteer
Professionals, seniors, families and groups find that Volunteer Resources offers unique programs and service opportunities at the hospital and long term care areas. Volunteers of all ages find fulfillment working with staff as they interact with patients in therapies and activities. Individuals and families spend time visiting patients and residents, while other volunteers join the Angel Dog Program and bring four-pawed visitors to Madonna. Volunteers can be found at the front desk, delivering mail, assisting individuals to therapies and working alongside staff in the many support areas throughout Madonna.

Peer Volunteers contribute in a number of ways, including:

Answer questions about the day-to-day experience
Visit individually with a patient and/or a family member
ANGEL DOGS PROGRAM
ANGEL DOGS PROGRAM
Angel Dogs have been bringing a sense of being at home to patients at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital for more than 15 years. Anxiety, fears, loneliness have been lessened by many individuals who have received visits or met an Angel Dog in the hall. Numerous patients and their families have been given a refreshing welcome change in routine and something different to look forward to during a day filled with therapies.
Angel Dog Volunteer Training is held several times a year. Conducted by Madonna’s Volunteer Resources staff and Angel Dog volunteers, the sessions are designed to prepare you to feel at ease as you volunteer with your dog. Topics include learning about Madonna, communication techniques for visiting patients, and skills for visiting with your dog. The Angel Dog Program works with Pet Partners Program to register you and your dog as a nationally recognized visiting team.

Undergraduate Observation Application
NOTE: Students will only be considered for observation at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals if they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and can provide documentation to that effect.
Madonna receives a large volume of observation requests. We try to accommodate as many students as possible while still maintaining a high standard of operation in our hospitals. It is important that you communicate a clear commitment to pursuing a career in one of the fields offered for observation. We recommend you check spelling and grammar as well as providing complete and accurate information.
