Neurological Disorders

On-Site Care

Madonna’s Neurological Program provides rehabilitation for patients with disorders that affect their body’s nervous system, helping them participate in their life roles at home or in community settings for as long as possible.
This includes diagnoses like Guillain Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease), Parkinson’s disease and development disabilities like cerebral palsy or autism, as well as polyneuropathies and other neurological disorders, such as transverse myelitis and ataxias.

Medical care

Each patient’s care is directed by a physician who specializes in physiatry (physical medicine and rehabilitation) and/or a physician with specialization in internal medicine. Specialized care is also available for a variety of associated conditions as needed.

Physical and Occupational Therapies

Madonna customizes physical and occupational therapies to meet the needs of the patient and their diagnosis.  Areas of focus can range from activities of daily living (ADLs), strength, mobility, spasticity management, transfers, locomotion, seating and positioning, and instruction in adaptive strategies for self-care, mobility and energy conservation.

Speech Therapy

Madonna’s speech-language pathologists regularly work with patients whose illness or injury impacts their ability to communicate or swallow.

An Interdisciplinary Team Will guide the recovery Process

Madonna’s care team of highly trained experts across specialties offers the best experiences and outcomes for our pediatric patients and their families. This physician-led team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation nurses, neuropsychologists, certified teachers and more.
