Care spectrum
Specialty Hospital
A step down from the intensive care unit (ICU) in acute care, this long-term acute care hospital focuses on medical stabilization and rehabilitation of patients with complex conditions, chronic illness or catastrophic injury with a goal of tolerating increased activity in order to move to the next level of care. Specialty hospital care includes daily physician visits from doctors board certified in internal medicine.
Rehabilitation Hospital
Comprehensive, coordinated, interdisciplinary medical rehabilitation program with a goal of three-plus hours of therapy per day. Rehabilitation hospital care includes daily physician visits from doctors board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation Day Program
Provides coordinated outpatient therapies with physician and nursing oversight focusing on patients’ reintegration to community, work or school.
Outpatient Services
With expertise in areas ranging from single service orthopedic sprains, strains and post-operative care to comprehensive rehabilitation for neurological conditions, Madonna’s outpatient services strive to help increase patients’ functional abilities and improve their quality of life.

CARF Accreditation
Madonna has received the highest possible level of accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) across 14 inpatient/outpatient categories. This year, Madonna celebrates 45 years of continuous CARF accreditation.<br>
National Grant Funding
Madonna has received federal grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) and the U.S. National Science Foundation to advance research on post-COVID conditions as well as assistive and adaptive communication.<br>

Community Health Needs Assessment
Each year, we conduct a community health needs assessment, which helps identify the greatest health needs within our community, for our patients and families, ensuring our resources are appropriately directed toward outreach, prevention, education, and wellness opportunities where the greatest impact can be realized. It has been developed by a committee that researched quantitative and qualitative data to discover unmet needs, as well as provide recommendations for Madonna’s community benefit and strategic planning.
