The Mercury newspaper featured 15-year-old Devin Busick’s return to school after suffering a traumatic brain injury in November 2016. Devin spent 10 weeks recovering at Madonna’s Alexis Verzal Children’s Rehabilitation Unit in Lincoln, Nebraska. During that time, Devin’s care team developed a unique therapy program for him, incorporating physical, occupational, speech and recreation therapy. Devin even went to school at Madonna’s Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC), which worked with his teachers to help him transition and be successful once back in the classroom.
