Specialized Rehabilitation Programs
Madonna TherapyPlus is equipped to provide therapy to individuals with a variety of illnesses, injuries or chronic conditions. From routine sprains and strains to catastrophic injuries, our highly individualized programs help patients recover faster and prevent recurrence of injury. Two TherapyPlus clinics are embedded within our nationally recognized rehabilitation hospitals in Lincoln and Omaha, where we provide physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as neuropsychology. Our therapists often receive additional training and extensive experience with patients recovering from brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and the unique rehabilitative needs of pediatric patients. Stroke
Madonna therapists work to help patients regain skills that may have been impaired by stroke, regardless of severity. Physical and occupational therapists utilize specially designed spaces to simulate life at home and in the community. Speech language pathologists provide assistance with relearning articulation as well as cognitive and memory issues that remain after stroke.
Spinal Cord Injury
Madonna outpatient therapists help individuals with spinal cord injuries regardless of severity. Our therapists have the latest in specialized rehabilitation technology available maximize mobility and improve outcomes. Our campus locations are designed to simulate everyday scenarios patients will encounter in order to foster confidence and the skills needed to live as independently as possible. Additionally, warm water aquatic therapy is often used to help achieve enhanced mobility with added buoyancy.
Brain Injury
Our brain injury specialists move patients of all ages toward lifelong brain health and recovery, working with those who have sustained brain injuries of all severities, including concussion. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach when appropriate allows speech, physical and occupational therapists to work together to help recover skills that remain impaired after a brain injury. Specialized technology and programs like vision therapy can be leveraged to help patients maintain or regain independence as they recover.
Pediatrics
Children have unique needs as they recover from illness or injury, and our specialized pediatric therapists offer innovative methods to keep children engaged in ways that are productive and fun. Whether children are experiencing physical or developmental delays or are recovering from a serious medical event, outpatient therapists work collaboratively to get children back to school, recreational activities and family life. Using facilities like indoor and outdoor therapeutic playgrounds and a warm water therapy pool allow our littlest patients to enjoy therapy while building skills.
Cancer
Treatment for cancer occasionally involves side effects that linger and can affect a patient’s daily life and ability to live independently. Issues with balance, stamina, food aversions, mobility limitations, neuropathy, and cognition are among the complications commonly treated by our interdisciplinary team. Our team sees patients at various stages of their cancer treatment and provides seamless communication with oncology and other medical teams.
