On Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. the Council Bluffs, Iowa, couple tied the knot in front of family, friends and Madonna staff at the Omaha Campus chapel with Chaplain Joan Frenzel presiding over the ceremony.

Bubba credits Madonna Rehabilitation Specialty Hospital-Omaha Campus Hospitalist Eyad Kakish, M.D., for saving his life. Bubba says Dr. Kakish’s attention to his health needs, the care team’s support and spiritual care during his four hospital stays are reasons the chapel is the perfect backdrop to marry his longtime fiancée.

“With everything that’s been going on with my health and all of the wonderful support and everything we’ve gotten from the health care team here at Madonna, to me it seemed like the perfect place to do it,” said Bubba. “I’ve been a very blessed man both with my health care team and especially with Carol. How can you go wrong with that?”
