Omaha CNA Helps Patients Heal and New Caregivers Grow

When Brittany McClure, CNA, talks about her job at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals, one word comes up again and again: helping.

“My favorite part of my job is just helping others,” Brittany said. “I love to help others and this place is really just miracles all the time.”

As a certified nursing assistant in Madonna’s rehabilitation hospital in Omaha, Brittany cares for patients during some of the lowest moments of their lives. Whether they are recovering from a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury or another serious illness, she is there to support them through each step of their recovery.

“You have people that walk in and they’re at their most vulnerable spot in their life,” she said. “Just to see them grow from day one to the day they leave is just so cool.”

Although Brittany has only been at Madonna since September 2025, she has already become a trusted resource for new staff members.

When she first started, Brittany had never worked in a hospital setting before. She credits her own trainers with helping her build confidence and learn the beliefs that guide Madonna’s culture.

“I had so many great trainers and they taught me so much,” she said. “They showed me what the values are here and how we work as a team. I am just glad that I get to be that for someone else now.”

As a preceptor, Brittany uses a hands-on approach that allows new employees to gradually gain independence.

“At first, I train them, and then we maybe do things together, and then I take a step back and they do it and I watch,” she explained. “Then we can collaborate and talk about what went well and what we can improve on.”

Her goal is simple: to help others feel comfortable and confident before they are on their own.

That desire to encourage others extends beyond training. Brittany is known for regularly submitting Madonna’s “Way to Go” recognitions to celebrate coworkers who make a difference.

“I just feel like I want to lift others up,” she said. “It’s such a team atmosphere here and if they did something I appreciated, I want to tell them face to face, but also shout them out on the Intranet so everyone else can see the impact they make.”

For Brittany, Madonna’s mission and faith-based values are also a meaningful part of her work.

“It spells Christ in our core values, and I just feel like that plays a role in everything that we do here,” she said. “I feel like God is definitely working in this place.”

Whether she is caring for patients, mentoring new team members or recognizing coworkers, Brittany is helping cultivate a supportive environment where both patients and staff can thrive.

“I love Madonna,” she said. “It really is a cool place to work.”
