A dedicated husband and father, 56-year-old Simon Ponce came to Madonna after surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his spinal cord. Tired and weak, his goal was to return home strong enough to resume his cancer treatments. Watch the video to see how he also added some fun into his rehabilitation.
With three children, 10 grandchildren and even one great-grandchild, Nancy Thompson has spent many Decembers baking and decorating Christmas cookies. After she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare bone marrow cancer, Nancy set a goal to be home for the holidays. With the help of her care team, she was able to participate in all her traditions and get strong enough to return home just in time for Christmas with her family.
