Madonna volunteer Kris Peterson was a familiar face on the Lincoln Campus. Rain or shine, Kris could be seen weekly accompanying Madonna residents to doctor’s appointments, assisting with recreational outings and activities, and volunteering in the Madonna Foundation office. Her 12 years of volunteer service came to an end with her untimely death on March 23, 2023.
As students and teachers across the U.S. begin a new school year, Madonna’s Therapeutic Learning Center staff is hard at work ensuring pediatric patients continue their academic pursuits during medical rehabilitation. Our certified teachers provide adaptive learning experiences in an on-site, classroom-based program. They also serve as liaisons to schools, helping teachers and staff understand any accommodations a student needs to be successful upon return to the classroom.
