A nurse for more than 35 years, Sheila was working at a clinic in her hometown of Troy, Kansas in late fall of 2020 when she contracted COVID-19. Her symptoms were mild, and after a few days she was ready to return to work. The night before she returned to work, she noticed all of her fingertips felt numb. When she took her shoes off after work the next day she noticed her toes were numb.
With a 31-year career in nursing, Donna Kerber is comfortable in taking care of others and finds joy in being able to provide comfort to those in need. She struggles when it comes to asking others for help. After a battle with COVID-19, Donna’s role switched to that of a patient, which has proved to be a humbling experience.
At almost 3 years old, little Rosie Kubik has climbed more mountains and conquered more obstacles than most of us can imagine. The spunky red-head has spent most of her young life battling serious health issues, and now is using her experience and voice to share an important message.
